Cool Weekend, You?
Wow, my weekend went just like the title.
Cool.
On Friday, I went to the movie “The Grudge”. To describe that movie in a few simple words would be next to impossible, but to describe the utter greatness of the movie experience would take all day.
First, the movie theatre was PACKED. It was opening night for this particular movie and with people laughing heartily and candy boxes rattling joyfully, I knew that this movie was well-worth it to see. Plus, it hardly had any little children. :-)
It was so great; everyone screamed in all of the right places, and the two girls who were sitting on either side of me (Sharon and Lindsey, I went with a group of people) were literally jumping at every other scene, making the movie seem even more scary and my movie-going experience even better. :-)
Let’s just say that the movie is WELL worth to see if you are into just the raw horror movies out there — It’s awesome. :-)
Then on Saturday, I went to a haunted house. Now, we walked there, and it was literally a two-mile hike to this haunted house, located in the center of downtown normal. We had to pass by creepy streets and mad barking dogs…and…*Gulp* one bridge over water — but other than that it was okay. We almost (well - we had to turn around a couple of times but still made it there in an hour) got lost, but we made it there okay in the end.
We had to stand in line for another hour, outside in the cool night air quickly descending to blackness for half of it and the other half in a nice queue line inside of the old school building. There were 15 rooms (in the haunted house, I mean) in all, and for the 8 bucks I had to pay, I feel that it was well worth the wait/walk. Just awesome. :-)
I yelled only once. We were in a room and there was a TV with fuzzy lines going across it, sitting perched on top of a covered table (pretty tall, actually). Suddenly, the TV flickered to the movie that is from “The Ring” (you might recall this one…) and all of a sudden a little girl was standing right in front of me and I didn’t even notice that she had come out from underneath the table. She looked EXACTLY like the little zombie girl from “The Ring” and THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is when I screamed. :-)
Other than that, I held myself, but the girl behind me (Jenny) was yelling her head off when we went around a corner and a REALLY tall guy was towering over us and coming closer and closer. She was rather freaked out by that and I just kept laughing when he chased her. See, we were all holding on to a rope and were NOT allowed to let go of it – Firecode according to the guy at the beginning of the “tour”. The really tall guy kept touching Jenny’s hair and stuff; she just kept screaming and practically climbing on top of me. It was really funny though. :-)
So, how was your weekend? :-)
