Well, That’s Good News
So today I finally decided to check my Boredom on a Stick e-mail, and what do I find in my Inbox? No, not another suggestion or silly comment, but instead, a reprinting request! What?!
Am I day-dreaming again?

Prentice Hall is preparing to publish a college-level textbook QUICK ACCESS: Reference for Writers 5th edition by Lynn Quitman Troyka and Douglas Hesse in February 2006. Within this textbook, the authors have prepared a chapter entitled “Thinking, Reading and Writing: Thinking Like a Writer”. The authors would like your permission to reprint a screen shot from your website, Boredom on a Stick, within this textbook. Specifically, the authors wish to reproduce [This Page] as an example of “a blog that a college student, Jillian, keeps to entertain herself and her friends—and sometimes to blow off steam”. Your website would serve as a contemporary form of writing in today’s world.
Please let me know if we may include your screen shot in our textbook, in its various formats and accompanying ancillaries. We would be happy to credit your material appropriately.
Should you need any additional information to consider this request, please contact me immediately. I look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes,
Lisa

Sounds good, right?
I couldn’t quite figure out if it was a hoax or not, but she did leave a number to her, as well as an address to a legit publishing company.
Can’t get too excited, but maybe I’ll look for the book when it comes out. ;-)
Contemporary writing style? Whatever! ;-)
Then again, the page they picked was not exactly my best writing, but none-the-less, I guess it is their choice, not mine!

Lisa,
Hello! Let me first say that I’m glad that this e-mail was spared from the all-gathering “SPAM” folder. :-)
I would be delighted to be in the college-level textbook, named QUICK ACCESS: Reference for Writers. You have the permission from me, Jillian, the owner of the blog Boredom on a Stick, to publish any and all parts of my blog and any or all parts of the screen shot.
Any accreditation would be greatly appreciated, and I thank you for choosing me!
Regards,
Jillian

Simple, yet, no matter how I looked at it, it can only be taken one way, which is for the publisher to note that I said “Yes, by all means go ahead and publish away”.
I tried to sound neutral, but maybe I came off as a bit eager? I wrote this E-Mail back to her half-hazardously, anyways, noting now that I mis-spelled ‘level’ in it. Other than that, it looks good! ;-)
Maybe I’ll get more visitors out of it. :-)
