Last School-Free Weekend

Horrah.

Although, I think that all weekends are technically “School Free”. Maybe this entry should be “Last Weekend of the Summer Before School Starts”.

However, I feel that that title will take up a few lines. ;-)

Either way, so today was pretty good so far. I really like my Single Room To Myself.

Really. :-)

Right now I’m kind of going through withdrawals for Cable TV because my cable jack is…well…Jacked Up. ;-)

I have, however, been contenting myself with watching the Lord of the Rings series, naturally. :-)

Tonight, Lauren and I are going to get some food from Watterson (the first dining center I’m going to this year…horrah!) and then we are going to Target (Lauren needs to go there).

We both want to hang with Joanette as well, but she seems to be ALWAYS busy with her RA stuff. Oh well. :-(

Actually you know what? I take the above statement back about “the first dining center I’m going to is Watterson” thing. You know why? Because I went to visit Joanette today in Atkin-Colby while Lauren was taking a shower. Unfortunately, Joanette wasn’t there, but I caught up with her and she said that she was taking her floor to the mall. Oh, horrah! ;-) So I called Lauren, and she said she wasn’t done yet.

So what did I have to do?

I went into the dining center and bought a Pink Lemonade, and then proceeded to sit in front of the “community television” in the lounge right outside of the dining center until Lauren called.

Although, I think Watterson will technically the first dining center I will EAT at, however…

Wow this post was about absolutely nothing!

This Post Summed Up:
– Going to Watterson Dining Center soon to eat Dinner
– Going to Target with Lauren

Now why couldn’t I have just said that instead of spewing out a lot of crap beforehand? ;-)

Drip, Drip

So last night I went to bed at 10:30PM — A respectable time, if I do say so myself.

I fall almost immediately asleep, yesterday being a long day at work and from moving in, I haven’t had much time to do anything, let alone check blogs or even get on my own computer.

“Just give it some time,” Joanette reminded me on the phone yesterday.

Speaking of Joanette, we will probably be getting Gumby’s pizza for the first time since I came back and all summer.

Mmmmmmmmm…Gumby’s.

Either way at around 1:30AM, it starts storming. Now, I fell asleep to a ’silent storm’…meaning the lightning would light up my room every now-and-again, but there was no rain and no thunder.

At about 2:15AM, however…

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

I start to hear a puddle of water being formed somewhere in my room.

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.
Drip.
Drip.

It starts to speed up.

In my sleepy haze, I jerk awake and jump out of my bed.

Since my bed is right up against my window and vents, I climbed out of bed in a panic, sending my sheets flying everywhere.

Drip.
Drip.
Drip.
Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

The dripping was slowing down, and after I turned on my light, I stand stupidly, blinking across my room. Right there, beneath my window sits a puddle, creeping slowly towards my vents.

With adrenaline pumping through me, my brain can’t seem to register where my towels are, although I just unpacked them last night and put them under my bed.

Drip.

I push a towel underneath the dripping and soak up the puddle. About 20 minutes later, the dripping stops, as does the rain.

Now I have to put in another work order because of the crack near my window.

Not to mention I already have a work order in the system because of my cable TV isn’t working.

Just imagine me staring blankly at my TV, pretending I’m watching Comedy Central or something. ;-)

Drip.
