Disaster

So today wasn’t too bad, if you consider “Good” being Teresa pulling me into Ron’s Office (he wasn’t there today) and having her tell me that I didn’t get the Development Team position.

Surprisingly though, I saw it coming really. When they started talking about my programming skills all I had to say was “Uh, well all I really know is what I learned in class.”

Teresa told me that I need to do a little extra things outside of work and school, like trying to put together a website.

I guess.

Either way, I’ll just try this Spring again and we’ll have to see if I get it then. She said that they hired the most programming-literate people (only two, I think is what she said) because they didn’t have time to really train them in the programming; they just have time to train them in what the new people have to program.

So that’s why I’ll be trying again in the Spring. Plus, I already have a job which is paying 8-bucks an hour. Teresa kept on looking nervous and asking me if we were “Still cool” during the whole “in-Ron’s-Office” thing. I assured her that I was. Of course it was a slight sting in my ego, but none to painful, however. ;-)

What was another disaster was that I had literally 3 kids come to my door. Last year, they had the Halloween thing (Trick-or-Treating for little kids) in South Campus (Atkin-Colby and Hamilton-Whitten), and apparently they have always had it in South, or at least this is what someone from my floor was telling me.

Either way, so I guess that is why no one showed up to trick-or-treat in our building. So I went around and literally knocked on everyone’s door and handed out my suckers. They were all happy, and I kept on giving Tyler candy whenever I saw him - he is probably mad at me or something by now. ;-)

What kind of ticked me off was everyone was real nice about taking candy - most people on the floor took only one or two suckers - leaving me with more than enough to take into work. (This part didn’t tick me off, read on ha ha) When I said “Well you can take more…” People would still only take like 5 suckers or something - hardly a dent or anything.

Well, one of the last people I asked to take suckers was my neighbor, Kendra. She was literally like “Can I have more?” I told her sure, and she grabbed like 1/3 of what I had left! Then, before she went back in her room, she asked if she could have more!! So she took more!

So yeah that kind of ticked me off because now I have BARELY enough to give to people at work. She’s the ONLY person who did that on the entire floor - do you think she was being selfish?? Maybe it was just me…

Good times on the floor and off - oh yeah and I COVERED my door with Spider-Web stuff (The fake kind) that is like cotton you just stretch across. Well I thought it looked cool anyways - but I have to take it down soon because after 24 hours you are required to take stuff down like that. Fire hazard or whatever. ;-)

Hope everyone’s Halloween was good!

Darker

Ask me what I did today — Go ahead. ;-)

Today I didn’t wake up until 12:30PM, only to realize that the time had been set back overnight and it was only 11:30AM. So I got up, took a shower, did laundry, dusted my room, vacuumed, folded my laundry, finished watching Titanic, set back all of my clocks, finished coloring and drawing the rest of my Halloween Garfield pictures, and started decorating my room.

Now I need to do homework.

Tomorrow for Halloween, the little kids are trick-or-treating in my dorm building. Every year they pick a new “section” of ISU to trick or treat in. Last year it was South Campus (Atkin-Colby and Hamimlton-Whitten) and this year it is Manchester and Hewett. The reason there are four buildings in South campus is because each building has only 10 floors, while both Hewett and Manchester both have 17 floors each. (Including a Pent House on the 18th floor, even though the elevator doesn’t go up that hight)

So yeah, I bought candy for that (Mini Tootsie Pops - Two bags!) and I have already put them in the bowl and my floor has been sampling since I did. :-)

I titled my entry this because my room has been getting steadily darker since I finished this movie (Titanic) and I haven’t made a move to turn on the lights or anything.

I also haven’t turned off my movie (Titanic) yet - the credits are rolling and Celine Dion is singing “My Heart Will Go On” through the credits as well. Such a good movie. Long, yet good.

Oh yes, this past weekend:

On Friday I went to go and see “Saw 2″ with Dan, my friend, and I found it to be very good. I figured my brother and father could see it together (My brother had been wanting to see it). But my mother told me that she thought that we (my brother and I) could have gone when they all came up on Saturday.

So on Saturday I went and saw “Saw 2″ with my brother, AGAIN. My mother treated, and of course I thought the movie was really good. Actually, I liked it better the second time anyways so I’m glad that I went with my whittle bruver. ;-)

And today you already know about. :-)

Tomorrow is Halloween - so Happy Halloween! For some reason Halloween this year seems special - I don’t know why. Maybe because I’m handing out candy from my ‘own place’ for the first time - Who knows!!

Man Titanic is good. Oh yes I got the 3-Disc Special Edition version of Titanic from Best Buy - my mother bought it for me. She was going to keep it to give to me on Christmas but at the last second she let me have it - Yay! :-D

I have already watched all of the special features (that was last night) and I just finished watching the movie (as you can tell).

Now I’m getting sleepy because my room is all dark because my light STILL hasn’t turned itself on. ;-) I’ll probably be doing that soon since the Credits have stopped rolling on Titanic, and it’s now going back to the menu.

Happy (early) Halloween Everyone! :-)
