Under a Pile of Books

In case you were wondering where I have been for the past few days:

Read the title. :-)

Next week is going to be one blazing-fast week I am getting the feel of. Hell, this week went blazing-fast to begin with, and now it’s Saturday?!

Here’s a Run-Down of my Next Week:

By the way, whenever I make a reference to a specific day (such as “Tuesday” or “Wednesday”) – I am referring to this coming week on those days – unless I give a specific date.

Economics (ECO 105)
———————
Quiz on Monday
Test on Friday
– Need to get a good grade on test

Politics (POL 140)
———————
Review Session on Monday
Test on Wednesday
– Class is Finished on Wed. if I get a good grade on the test…
– Need to read chapters and make notecards for test…
If not a good grade on the Test on Wed: Final on May 10
– Comprehensive Final (Covers EVERYTHING over the entire semester)

Cognitive Science (IDS 265)
——————————
Daily Assignment Due on Tuesday
Take-Home Final (A 5-6 Page Paper) Due on May 9
15-Page Paper “Special Project” Final Version due on Friday

Professional Practice (ITK 191)
———————————-
“Final” - Mock Interview on Monday
Class is Finished after this Monday

Systems Development I (ITK 261)
———————————-
Test on Thursday
– Need to Read chapters, make notecards, etc.
4-Part “Assignment” Due on Thursday
‘Late’ Part for Assignment 2 Due on Tuesday

And I have to do laundry and start getting ready to move back to Lincoln for the summer.

And wholly crap I hate my Cognitive Science instructor - Let’s review: I have a 15-page paper (a MAJOR part of the class) due on Friday (No later than Friday).

And then the test is a TAKE-HOME-FINAL for that same class…another 5-6 page paper. For the same class?! Oye.

Oh yeah, and my computer contracted not one virus, but SEVENTEEN VIRUSES from the Internet. I was NOT happy.

So I reformatted my harddrive and here I am - sure my computer runs like lightning, but I mean come onnn - the Virus Gods could have spared me until AFTER finals, you know? ;-)

Oh yeah and not to mention that as SOON as finals are over, I have to (1) Be moved out of my dorm by Sunday, May 14 and (2) I switch to the “Development Team” that Monday, May 15.

So if you don’t hear from me for a few…days…the entire weekend…this week…the next couple of weeks…not until the start of summer break…

Don’t be surprised.

Roseanne

I don’t know why but lately I’ve been trying to find when exactly Roseanne is on during the times of day - I know that it is always on at night during the “Nick at Night” thing, but other than that I’m not sure.

It’s probably finals with all of the stress of final papers, final exams, take-home finals, final EVERYTHING that is making me turn to comedy to give me some laughter and relief from the day.

It feels good.

Anyways I wanted to share a few quotes from the show I was watching tonight along with other shows I remember (and rip off of websites, naturally). Darlene is just impeccable with her sarcastic timing - she makes the show flow and provides and offset to Roseanne’s comedy.

Dan: (After a big fight where Darlene returns home from a few months of being with her boyfriend at his place) Darlene I’m sorry I yelled at you before.
Darlene: No problem.
Dan: Let’s just put this all behind us - I mean…
Darlene: (Rubbing stomach) Yeah, tell that to my baby…
Dan: Darlene…
Darlene: (Walks off stage, laughing)

Ahhh a good moment - of course you can probably tell that was paraphrased from the show I am currently watching.

And now some of my favorites to (hopefully) entertain your day:

Darlene: [to D.J] You’re about to become a strange smell in the attic.
—————————-
Darlene: What is wrong with this family!
Roseanne: Your father and I are really brothers.
—————————-
[both Dan and Roseanne are out of their jobs]
Roseanne: And do you have anything to say?
Darlene: Can I have a pony?
—————————-
D.J.: You stink!
Roseanne: I do not.
D.J.: You smell like smoke.
Roseanne: Well, my hair was on fire.
—————————-
Dan: [about the kids] None of ‘em look like me.
Roseanne: That won’t stand up in court, Dan.
Dan: Damn.
—————————-
Becky: Nice hair.
Darlene: Nice life.
Becky: Go to hell.
Darlene: Go to the mall.
—————————-
Dan: I don’t care what your story is. The rule is you call.
Darlene: It was a bad neighborhood. When I finally found a phone booth I got tired of waiting for the guy in it to finish peeing.
—————————-
Becky: Darlene you just shouldn’t let sex rule your life
Darlene: You know, thats the same speech mom gave me. Except you left out the part “… or you’ll end up like Becky”.

Classic.
