Changes Are Close

So yesterday my friend and I went shopping up here in Bloomington (go figure). It was a lot of fun, and a got a really cute outfit. I wanted my friend Lauren to help me get a new wardrobe, instead of the same t-shirt and jeans everyday to work, school, weekend, etc.

I need a change.

I think I’m going to get my haircut this weekend. Not just cut, I mean CUT. With a capital CUT. ;-)

Well, maybe not so drastic, but I would really like getting rid of my bangs, etc FIRST AND FOREMOST. They are just out of style and out of date.

I wore a cute shirt and undershirt to work today, and boy did I get some nice compliments. They all really liked the shirt – and it is really comfortable too!

Lauren and I went shopping last night, and I ended up getting some crop pants instead of capris. Crop pants are slightly longer than Capris are, and I they are also a very bright white, but they look really cute with this knit top I bought for them as well. I needed some summer clothing anyways.

I enjoy shopping with Lauren a lot because she is honest and to the point. If it doesn’t look good she’ll get me something else to wear that looks cuter – she won’t lie and she has a great sense of style. Note to Self: Whenever clothes shopping, BRING LAUREN!

Speaking of ‘friends’…

Yesterday, Kristin im’d me on AIM to see what I was doing tonight. I haven’t spoken with her in awhile, and the first thing she says is that they are short on people and to see if I wanted to come and join them in a game.

I was at work.

About 2 minutes later she comes back with that they are postponing the game until 7PM that night, so if I wanted to join I could – but if not that’s alright.

Go figure.

Yet again, Kristin talked with me because 1. she had probably called everyone else before me and asked them to play and they all turned her down and 2. she probably doesn’t care that I show up tonight because she knows a lot more people who will be there anyways.

That’s how she’s been ever since she entered college. We used to talk all of the time – I loved it when she bragged about us knowing each other for “11 years” or so. But now I am used as a last resort of thing.

It’s kind of irritating.

Sorry, I guess Kristin just started this whole thing, because, let’s go back to when Lauren and I are shopping in Old Navy for clothing. I go into try on a few shirts, and who do I see? Tracy and Audrey.

Tracy is another girl I used to hang out a lot with in high school. But as soon as she graduated and went to college – it’s like we never even knew each other.

When I saw her in Old Navy, she just kind of nodded at me – like we were acquaintances or something. Audrey smiled, like I was a face she used to know but couldn’t remember my name.

It was, again, irritating.

I guess it’s not irritating to see them both change so much, but what gets me is how we used to have a great friendship, and suddenly that is all gone because of college or whatever?

No offense, but I would take one or two really great friendships with Lauren, Tamara and Allison, over my ‘old’ friends – Anyday.
