So, at Discover, the Computer (nerd) interns are called “BT Interns” (Business Technology). Fun!

You know what is also fun? Having a distribution list (basically like e-mailing everyone at once in a huge spam e-mail) with all of the intern’s e-mails on it, and then e-mailing all of the interns all the time.

You know how many e-mails we all received within the first week from other interns?

A LOT!

Because everyone wanted to get together and hang out and play volleyball, set up a date where we can all get together and play Texas Hold ‘Em or Spades. EVERYONE sent out e-mails!

So, I got to thinking, now follow me on this: What if we had this sort of central place where people could post that kind of thing. A web domain maybe. What would work…?

A forum would, yes, yes that would work!

So, I bought another web domain name (www.btinterns.com), and put up PHPBB (PHP Bulletin Boards) up on it.

It’s nerdtastic!

With a template and a tiny pinch of Photoshop, we have ourselves one cool forum - and 28 people registered ALONE today after I sent out what I hope to be the last spam e-mail to all of the interns via the distribution list.
