Lunesta Commercials - Not Lunesta, Can Cure Insomnia

Does anyone else have this problem?

I’m watching TV, it’s 1:30AM - I’m laying in bed. Then, a Lunesta commercial comes on.

It’s ironic that a sleeping pill commercial is so soothing that it frequently puts me into a 3-in-the-morning-after-going-to-the-bars TV coma.

I don’t need Lunesta - just record me the song that Lunesta uses on their commercial and play it over and over and wah-lah.

Lunesta commercials can cure anyone’s insomnia.

Cleverly Disguised as a Responsible Adult

Filed under Chi-Town, Daily, Discoverfied, Randomness, Thinking //

Soooooo - WOAH I haven’t written anything in awhile. Been too busy rearranging my paperclip collection and counting the number of bricks on the outside wall to my apartment building. This kind of stuff takes a LOT of concentration, trust me.

This past weekend my parents came up for “Parents Day” at Discover, which was this past Friday. Awwww - how cute! We spent the whole day playing in coloring books and the volunteer squad set up a portable playground and we played tag all day!

At least, this is what SHOULD have happened. Instead they gave us a catered breakfast and lunch, and then made us sit through speeches all day. Still, it was informative! I learned that there are 27 ways to pronounce my name (Jillian), and that I was addressed by all 27 pronunciations at least one time each that day. I also learned that Discover catering food is very good!

Then on Saturday, my family spent one more night at the hotel and we went to downtown Chicago for most of the day. It would have been way better if the weather would have been a little cooler then, say, the temperature of the sun. Can’t ask for a miracle I guess…

Oh, and a few days ago I submitted a survey to Discover that put me into a drawing for gift cards from Discover, and I won! Most of the questions were like -

“Jimmy is shorter than Sue who is taller than Linda who is about the same height as Alex. Who is the tallest?” and “If a train was leaving Chicago going 120 MPH, and another train left Milwaukee going 90 MPH, how long until they crashed into each other?”

No not really - they were all about record retention, stuff like “How long does Discover have to retain records of their past employees?” - You get the picture. If one got them all right, then that person was entered into the drawing.

I won a 15 dollar gift card from Discover! (A Discover gift card - like a credit card basically worth 15 dollars) Sweet! I had to sign a waiver basically saying that if I was to be, say, set fire to once handed the gift card, that I couldn’t sue Discover for WHATEVER reason while in possession of said gift card. I wish I would have made a copy of the waiver - it was pretty funny.

Boy I’m in an interesting mood today - I think I’ll go and rearrange the kitchen so that my roommates can’t find any of the dishes! Ah, the creative juices just keep on a-flowin’. Bring it on!
