Nap Time?

Filed under Apartment Life, Bluggin, Personal //

If you have been reading this blog for more than…a while, you should know by now that me and sleeping in new places is never good. And this new apartment will DEFINITELY take some getting used to.

I wake up, and look over at my clock. “1:13AM”. I’ve been asleep for less than an hour.

“Creaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaakkkkkkkkkkk”, goes the apartment building as the wind whips around it. I hear people in the apartment below us talking loudly out their window.

I fall back asleep, and wake up at around 3:00AM. I here scratching noises, coming from the living room! Is someone trying to break in? I jump out of bed and grab the first thing I see - my Accounting textbook, lying open in the spot I was reading at right before I went to sleep. I creep down the hallway, and…JUMP AROUND THE CORNER!

But, it’s just some branches blowing about in the wind and taping on the window in the living room. I peer out the window, the neighbors below me must have passed out or something because I don’t hear talking and the apartment complex is really quiet.

I go back to bed, and wake up at 4:00AM. I tried to remember the dream I was having that woke me up: I dreamt I was back in high school and I had a whole GALLON bag filled with Pot in my locker, and the police did a random drug search and I threw it down the trash chute (my High School didn’t have a trash chute…?) but the cops found remnants of it anyways in my locker and arrested me.

I roll over and go back to sleep, and wake up at 4:30AM.

I. JUST. WANT. TO. SLEEP. I lay, staring at the ceiling; suddenly I hear the toilet flush and I realize why I woke up. Rochelle (my roommate) must have got up to use the restroom.

I can only hope I will get more sleep tonight. Luckily I don’t have school so during the daytime I’ve been taking a lot of naps, but tomorrow school starts and I can’t be napping during class…

Help me.

A Note About Moving

Filed under Apartment Life, Homework Blues, Moving, Randomness //

I normally don’t give “Words of Advice”, but this time I feel compelled to give myself more of a “Note to Self” more than anything -

When packing (and, when unpacking for that matter), there is one thing that you have to keep in mind and that is to be -

ORGANIZED

This one little word can make all the difference between “I found it!” and a three-hour search for the remote I-SWEAR-I-PACKED-IN-THIS-BOX -DAMMIT!

Packing was the easy part - it’s UNPACKING that is annoying. Sure, there are lots of places to now put things (my bedroom is roughly the size of New Hampshire) as compared to my old bedroom, which was approximately the size of a soup can, but now I can’t remember where I put things, let alone FIND anything that I need/want THIS. VERY. SECOND. You know how that goes.

And I took a picture of my room as I am unpacking, with my crap thrown everywhere and whatnot, and I wanted to include it in this entry (since it fit so nicely), but I am failing spectacularly to find my mini USB cord to hook up the damn camera to my computer to get the pictures off.

Once again proving that I should print out this blog entry and permanently glue it to my forehead.

In other news, I had a bowl of the Post cereal, “Honey Bunches of Oats”, for dinner because those crazy people on the commercials seem to be so happy to be eating it, I figured I could get a “mouthful of joy” for dinner every once in awhile, too!

However, I think I’d rather eat ground-up cardboard, because it practically tastes the same! Okay, maybe not, but there is zero flavor in that cereal. I’ll go smack those people in the commercials who say it’s a “mouthful of joy”. I don’t think so. I’ll go back to eating Lucky Charms and watch Lucky get his ass chased all over by the kids who can never catch him as he turns the moon into a marshmallow in order to escape those pesky kids.

That’s definitely the cereal for me.
