Car, Meet Snow. Snow, Meet Car.

Filed under Apartment Life, Daily, Picture-y Goodness, Randomness //

It’s Saturday morning at 10AM - I decide to take a quick trip to my least favorite store in the whole wide world, Wal-Mart. It’s a necessary evil. Well that, and I’m out of ice cream…and frozen dinners.

I go downstairs to figure out how exactly I should start to unbury my car, when I am greeted with the most interesting of scenes - about four guys are shoveling snow ONTO a car, yelling to each other and having a good time.

“Hey, how’s it going,” One of the guys says and nods at me. I believe he is my neighbor, but they have so many people over all the time it’s hard to tell.

“Good,” I say, starting my car. I take out my 3-in-one ice scraper, complete with a brush and an espresso machine, and I start to brush off my car in the most efficient way I can think of. Which was, as it ended up, with my hands.

“JERR-RYYYYY!!” One of the guys shouts. I look down towards the end of the apartment complex and see a guy walking towards the group with a couple of shovels.

“I figured you guys could use the hand,” He says simply as he throws the extra shovel down and starts to haul snow onto the car.

“Hey, you wanna help?” The guy who greeted me asks, gesturing towards the shovel.

“Ah, you know what, that sounds tempting but no thanks,” I say, digging out my car tires using my feet and the useless ice scraper; I make a mental note to burn the damn scraper if it makes it through the winter.

“Well, this is what Paul gets for passing out on my couch and pissing all over the bathroom,” I hear Jerry say as he leaves another load onto the car.

Later on in the day, I come back and find the car again, COMPLETELY buried. You honestly couldn’t tell that there was a car underneath all that snow; it looked like one of the snow-plows came through and made the pile while plowing the parking lot. This morning, the car was still in the same position, only some of the snow seemed to have melted or was brushed off because both of the right-side windows of the car are completely uncovered.

Ah, the joys of living in a college-student-filled apartment complex.
