Bring It Up a Level
I figured that since I couldn’t think of anything to write, that I would try my hand at being artistic in Photoshop. Alright, a LOT artistic. Where my last template failed, this one succeeds. Basically, the last template I did had a lot of vector graphics in it, which, put into lamens terms, are very pretty-looking and a lot of clicking-and-dragging was going on in Photoshop/Illustrator, but they use a LOT of computer power. Computer power I don’t have. Correction: computer power I WISH I had.
With the new template I decided against vectors and instead went with something more interesting: Photoshop brushes! I found some neat splatter brushes for Photoshop and decided to try all of the tricks I learned in the book “Adobe Photoshop: Classroom in a Book” series (to which I’ve memorized the whole book, I’m afraid), and wah-lah.
Whoops, didn’t mean to get all technical up there. I guess for all of you non-technical people reading this entry, the first few paragraphs can be summed up nicely by saying MONKEY BALLS, for all the meaning you got out of it. My apologies.
However! What’s new, right? Well, I’m about moved up to Milwaukee; just one more van-full of crap and I’ll be good to go! My brother graduated high school this past weekend and we had a lot of family milling around for a few days, so that was fun as well. On Wednesday, I move up the rest of my stuff and then the following Monday I start my new job at Metavante - Hurrah!!
After looking at practically all of the blogs on the internet (namely the ones that received awards of sorts for their design), I figured that it wouldn’t hurt to change mine either. The look I was going for was “Badass” but I’m afraid I only got to tier one of that pyramid which is “Abstract”. Ah well, maybe next time.
Well, I like the new website a lot better now, and I think this one is going to stay (Yeah, I know I say that now…). New features include a nicer sidebar, larger width for the content (and for larger photos, bwa ha ha!) An “About Me” page (on the left there under Quick Links), and fun fonts all around. And sorry, the banner is still (STILL!) not clickable to go back to the homepage (I’m too lazy to make an image map right now…), and the comments section is still messed up in the face.
Let me know what you think -
