Buying Microsoft as We Speak
“What is it that you are considering buying?” She asks over the phone, the static and background noises screech in my ear.
“Something musical…maybe a piano?” I suggest.
“Can you play the piano?”
“I used to, well, kinda, back in grade school a girl down the street used to take lessons, and she would then in turn teach me the lessons,” I say. Am I making up excuses to buy something completely unneeded?
“Can you afford it?”
“Afford what?”
“‘Afford what…’” She says, imitating me, “Duh.”
“Oh, well, yeah I can also afford a Laptop, Goodyear tires anndddd I think I left out the punchline. Why would I buy those things when I already have it?”
“Yeah, and why would you buy food when you would just throw it away…?”
“Hey now, I take offense to that!”
“Please, when I came to visit you all you had in your cupboards was a few boxes of Hamburger Helper and frozen waffles. Do you just buy food when you parents come around to impress them?”
“Pretty much.”
“Alright then, get the piano.”
“Wait…What?!”
“And, make sure it has a USB hookup so you can use that computer knowledge to hack into the keyboard at least.”
“Good point. Next stop, Amazon.”
Okayyyy so there is a huge chunk missing where I tell her that I’ve been thinking about buying a piano ever since I moved up here. You know, to have something creative to do in my free time besides draw, design websites and play on the internet, etc, but who needs that boring bit of conversation?
And anyways, I think it’s time that I move away from being on a computer for so much: Because I’ve already beat the internet.
The end guy is hard.
